Celebrating a milestone for Maine: 90 Years of Pine Tree Society
This year, Pine Tree Society reaches a landmark milestone: 90 years of creating possibilities. Our journey began as a bold, new idea in 1936. For nine decades — a history spanning nearly half of Maine’s existence and over a third of American history — Pine Tree Society has pioneered opportunities for Maine people with disabilities.
We lead by envisioning a world where every individual has the means to live a life of passion and purpose.
Capturing Nine Decades of Impact
To honor this legacy, we are thrilled to announce that production has officially begun on a documentary capturing our first 90 years. There is no better moment than this anniversary to open our treasure trove of archives, vintage photos and personal memories that define our impact on the Pine Tree State.
A Legacy Built on “Yes”
This anniversary is a testament to you — our incredible community. Whether it is the magic of Pine Tree Camp or the life-changing independence provided by our Assistive Technology services, our work is powered by one foundational belief: We don’t say we can’t. We say how can we.
We Want to Hear Your Story
You are a vital part of our history, and we want your voice to be part of our documentary and celebrations. Do you have a favorite memory, a story of a breakthrough, or a photo from years past? Share your Pine Tree Society or Pine Tree Camp story HERE.
