Im excited to see how this organization continues to grow and serve the community in the years ahead.”

A conversation with Doug DiPasquale

When did you join the Pine Tree Society Board, and what drew you to its mission? I joined the board in October 2025. My connection to Pine Tree Society goes back many years through my daughter, who has been a camper at Pine Tree Camp for a long time. Watching the impact camp has had on her—and on so many others—made me want to give back to this community in a meaningful way. The mission of creating opportunities, independence and joy for people with disabilities is something I’ve seen firsthand, and it’s what inspired me to get involved.

Do you serve on any committees? If so, which ones? I currently serve on the Marketing and Development Committee and the Program Committee.

Why did you choose to focus on those particular committees? I was drawn to the Marketing and Development Committee because, in past volunteer roles, I found that I really enjoyed fundraising and helping to share an organization’s story with the broader community. It’s rewarding to connect people with a mission that matters. The Program Committee appealed to me because it allows me to stay close to the heart of what Pine Tree Society does—its services and programming—and contribute from a parent’s perspective.

What unique perspective do you bring to the board? I bring the perspective of a parent whose child has directly benefited from Pine Tree Society’s programs. While my daughter primarily participates in camp, I’ve become familiar with many of the other services Pine Tree Society offers. I can speak to the experience of families who rely on these programs and offer insight into how they support growth, confidence and community.

Where do you work, and what is your job title? I work in the paper industry at Sappi. Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked at several paper mills, including the Androscoggin Mill in Jay and the Somerset Mill in Skowhegan. I’m now based at Sappi’s corporate office in Portland. My official title is Global Service Team Manager for IT Operations. In this role, I work with colleagues across North America, Europe and South Africa to manage IT on-site support and service desk operations.

What is meaningful to you about Pine Tree Society? The work that Pine Tree Society does is immeasurable in its impact. Whether you spend an afternoon at Pine Tree Camp or visit the Adult Community Support program, you leave with a smile on your face. The joy, confidence and sense of belonging that Pine Tree Society creates for the people it serves is something truly special.
