For the past few seasons, bowlers from Pine Tree Society’s Community Support Program in Scarborough have found their way into the hearts of their fellow bowlers in the community league at Spare Time.
“The boys grew on me and I grew on the boys,” said Meegan Diconzo.
She and her partner, Al Stimpson, started bowling as a way to socialize and stay active. What they didn’t expect was the deep connection they developed with Pine Tree Society’s bowling team.
“It’s really been rewarding for me to interact with people of different abilities,” Al said. “It’s been nice to get to know and compete against them.”

Keeping people connected, engaged and active is what Pine Tree Society’s Community Support Program is all about. Bowling with people in the community strikes a perfect balance between friendship, exercise and good old fashioned competitive spirit for our clients.
“The Pine Tree Society team is very competitive and they are very good at bowling,” Meegan continued. “Everybody loves them. We have a special bond and it makes me feel good. Our friendship brings out the best in us all because we’re a bowling family.”
