Pine Tree Society’s Community Support Program builds friendships
Our Community Support Program is always looking for new ways to keep people engaged. From volunteering in the community, to going out for pizza with friends, to participating in Special Olympics, our clients are always growing and working towards their goals.
“We have a handful of people who like doing puzzles,” said Shelley Zielinsky, Director of Adult Support Services. “We wanted to expand their horizons by having them try something different.”
And that something different turned out to be none other than LEGOs!

“I was surprised to see there are LEGO kits designed for adults. People in our program just love them. Some people remember liking Legos when they were younger; for others, they are a brand new experience.”
Not only are people having fun together building, they are also working on goals like problem solving, fine motor skills and teamwork.
“Projects like this also help foster friendships and everyone has such a sense of accomplishment and pride when they finish building.”
You can support our Community Support Program by shopping our Amazon Wish List to provide engaging and fun things like LEGO kits. LEGOs aren’t just for kids anymore! Our clients absolutely love working together to build incredible things.
