Pine Tree Society Early Learning Center Nominated for Best in the 207!
Our Early Learning Center, located in the heart of Auburn, is a special purpose preschool program geared towards children from ages 3-6 years with various physical and intellectual disabilities. The goal of this program is to provide a completely inclusive and barrier-free space that allows every child to build relationships, gain social skills, foster a love for learning, and recognize their methods of communication and understanding.
The ELC’s philosophy is that children learn best through play and hands-on experience. Teacher-led activities promote collaboration between students and help each child meet their individual learning goals. Establishing skills around sharing, taking turns, hand raising, and transitioning between activities is vital for kindergarten readiness. The ELC program sends over half of its students off to kindergarten each year!

The Early Learning Center team has over 185 years of combined experience.
The team is built of teachers, many of whom are achieving higher education, working as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and program leaders. Every individual plays an invaluable role in the process of supporting our students to build these skills and become more comfortable in a classroom setting.
Our teams embed their mission throughout the community, partnering with local school districts and mission-aligned organizations to share expertise on special purpose preschool programming. Not only do we share our knowledge on creating inclusive spaces for children with disabilities, but we’re able to educate others on how to recognize these children’s specific needs and methods of communication.
This year, we are so grateful to share that our ELC program has been nominated for Best in the 207 in the Pre-School category. This is a direct reflection of the hard work our team puts in every single day not only to support these students, but their parents, families, and community networks.
