Chandler Guptill

Kennebunk native Chandler Guptill joined Pine Tree Society in 2021 as Business Services Associate for ASL Interpreting Services. Working behind the scenes, he ensures the scheduling of interpreters goes smoothly for clients and that all the logistics are taken care of. “I enjoy the challenge of the intricacies of putting the schedule together each day and the interaction I have with my co-workers. It’s an incredible team,” he said. Chandler was drawn to Pine Tree Society because it provides a chance for him to engage with interpreters and the Deaf Community. “Pine Tree Society provides so many opportunities to learn every aspect of the field,” he continued. “I also particularly like that Pine Tree Society is Maine’s only not-for-profit sign language interpreting agency.  I’ve always worked for non-profits and that is really important to me.” Chandler is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine where he received the prestigious Lou Fant Award for excellence and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics with a concentration in ASL/English Interpreting and a Minor in Deaf Studies. He also received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. Outside work, he enjoys doing puzzles with his fiancée, doing Tai Chi and, for a time, had a lot of fun as a professional magician.
