First Annual Pine Tree Palooza a Joyful Success

We’re all for trying new things, and we couldn’t be more excited to share that our first annual Pine Tree Palooza at Lost Valley was a huge success! Our team and community came together on a beautiful, sunny autumn day to join in on the fun, celebrating our 90th anniversary of serving Mainers with disabilities.

The Great Inflatable 90-yard dash was a sight to see: take a look at our social media to watch over a dozen colorful creatures including a dinosaur, a flamingo, a clown, and more, make their way across the finish line in triumph. What a unique spectacle to highlight how our organization channels positivity in a variety of ways.

Our Chair-ity Auction caught peoples’ eye throughout the day, offering stunning community-refurbished furniture items to raise money to directly support Pine Tree Camp and our mission to support individuals in Maine with disabilities. Thank you to everyone who brought home one of these beautiful pieces, and we hope they brighten up every room!

The main stage was rockin’ out into the night, with live music including Jay McClure, Denny Breau, and headliner Hello Newman. We saw friends dancing, enjoying the sun, and swaying by the fire once the sun went down. Pine Tree Society was so lucky to partner with Lost Valley to provide a space for all these local musicians to share their joy and passion!

A huge shout-out to our ASL Interpreters who kept every corner of the Palooza fully accessible to individuals from the Deaf & Hard of Hearing communities. Their tireless work throughout the event was a direct representation of our determination to make every space barrier-free for everyone.

Thank you to all our Pine Tree Palooza attendees that kept the face painter’s line long, who played cornhole, who enjoyed food and drink from our friends at Lost Valley, and who engaged with our local non-profit tables. The Mission Working Dogs were a huge hit, providing an adorable and relaxing respite to all who needed it.

It was a treat to share our story and demonstrate some of our fully accessible recreational activities from Pine Tree Camp, such as inflatable archery and adaptive bikes. We truly couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of a community who is so willing to engage, have fun with us, and help support Maine people with disabilities.

And the fun doesn’t stop here! Join us up at Pine Tree Camp on October 24th for the 5th annual Flutie 5K! Registration is open until day-of the event, and we’d love to see you there – whether that be running, walking, or rolling the fully accessible trails, or supporting us from the sidelines.
