Pine Tree Society’s holiday cards have been a Maine tradition for over 50 years.

“I’m glad Pine Tree Society keeps this tradition going,” said featured artist, Sandy Crabtree. “There’s something very personal about sending a Christmas card. I still receive cards from my family and out of state friends. You never know how touching getting a card is.”

When you send a Pine Tree Society holiday card, you not only spread cheer to your friends and family, but you help Maine people with disabilities stay connected all year-long. One hundred percent of proceeds support Pine Tree Society’s programs.

“Keeping people connected is the very essence of what we do,” said Noel Sullivan, President and CEO of Pine Tree Society. “For many people in our community, we are nothing short of a lifeline. What better symbol of connection than that of sending a  handwritten holiday card to a loved one.”

This year’s cards by noted Maine artists Sandy Crabtree and Jeannine Staples celebrate winter in Maine. Crabtree’s painting “December Cove” is NEW for 2024 and Staples’ “Afternoon Play” was selected from the archives for a special limited edition rerelease of this customer favorite.

“December Cove” depicts the incredible beauty of the Maine coast and the hard-working families who live and work here. A consistent theme runs throughout Crabtree’s artwork: a caring for people and places that celebrate the human spirit. Her paintings have been featured on Pine Tree Society’s holiday cards more than a dozen times. She is a noted children’s book illustrator and a longtime Bath resident who taught at Morse High School for nearly 30 years.

Jeannine Staples is known for her award winning Maine State Duck Stamps. “Afternoon Play” was last featured on a Pine Tree Society holiday card 25 years ago in 1999. This late afternoon winter scene depicts her four grandchildren at play in the snow.
