“Spring is the time of plans and projects.”

Isn’t that the truth? If you are like me, you have a growing list of projects to tackle once spring has sprung. But nowhere is this truer than Pine Tree Society.

I am thrilled to share some of the plans and projects we are working on in 2024.

  • Our Early Learning Center is adding a third classroom to early education and intervention services to children living in greater Lewiston/Auburn.
  • In response to the needs of families who have children with special needs, Pine Tree Camp has expanded its day camp to offer services for six full weeks this summer.
  • Pine Tree Society’s Audiology program is expanding to offer hearing evaluations for infants, meeting a growing unmet need in the community.
  • The adults in our Community Support program are continuing to expand opportunities to volunteer to support the communities in which they live.
  • We will break down barriers to communication by partnering with the Ogunquit Playhouse to provide American Sign Language interpreting during their 2024 season.

And, lastly, we are proud to honor the legacy of our colleague, Josh Seal, who was killed in the mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine by continuing to expand Pine Tree Camp’s Dirigo Experience, a camp experience for youth who are Deaf.

Our impact is growing and we couldn’t do it without you. The funding Pine Tree Society receives through reimbursement for services only covers a portion of our costs. Families caring for loved ones with disabilities have fewer and fewer resources to turn to for help.

We need your help to continue to fulfill the promise of our mission…a mission that has been in place for 88 years.

Your donation will be put to work immediately to impact the lives of Maine children and adults with disabilities and their families. Together, we can transform the lives of Maine children and adults with disabilities and their families. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Noel Sullivan, President and CEO
