The Roger R. and Theresa S. Thompson Endowment Fund has awarded a $15,000 grant to Pine Tree Camp. These funds will provide tuition for children and adults with disabilities who reside in York County to attend Pine Tree Camp this summer.

“We are grateful to the Roger R. and Theresa S. Thompson Endowment Fund for supporting our open door tuition policy by making a fully accessible summer camp experience possible for kids and adults with disabilities in York County,” said Adria King, Chief Development Officer for Pine Tree Society.

Pine Tree Camp is a program of Pine Tree Society and is located in the heart of the Belgrade Lakes Region in Rome. At Pine Tree Camp, children and adults with disabilities experience freedom, independence and life-changing experiences through barrier-free access to the outdoors.

Throughout the summer, Pine Tree Camp offers week-long overnight camp sessions for adults and children. In addition, Camp Pine Cone is a week-long summer day camp designed for children with disabilities who are not yet ready for overnight camp or who have special needs that make attending overnight camp a challenge. Campers can attend more than one week of Camp Pine Cone.

Summer camp applications opened Monday, February 3 for adults and will open Monday, March 3 for children at https://pinetreesociety.org/camp-home/.

Full tuition assistance is available. Since 1945, no camper has ever been turned away due to their ability to pay.
