Sandy Crabtree’s love of the Maine coast shines through in her latest holiday card design
Sandy Crabtree loves showcasing the rugged Maine coast in her artwork. Her paintings of coastal Maine winter scenes and lighthouses have been featured on Pine Tree Society’s holiday cards more than a dozen times.
She’s an accomplished children’s book illustrator who taught at Morse High School for nearly 30 years. Over the decades, she had many students who went to Pine Tree Camp and saw first hand what it meant to them. She’s proud to give back to the place that gave her students so much.
“I’m glad Pine Tree Society keeps this holiday card tradition going,” she said. “I want to help raise money and show my support for the hard-working families who live and work here.”
She loves how Pine Tree Society’s holiday cards feature Maine scenes. This year, two of her coastal scenes are featured.
New for 2025, “December Eve at Lookout Point” captures a special winter moment in Harpswell as the setting sun illuminates the magnificent beauty of the snow-covered Maine coast. A festive wreath and lobster buoys on the pier evoke a nostalgic holiday feeling.
Due to popular demand, Pine Tree Society brought back her 2024 card “December Cove” which features a spot she loves in West Point at the end of the peninsula near Sebasco. She’s been there countless times in the summer and it was a new experience to capture what the cove looks like in the winter season.
No matter the season, Sandy’s love of the Maine coast shines through.
