Spring is a season of new beginnings, fresh starts, and exciting opportunities.
It feels particularly appropriate for me to have joined Pine Tree Society at this time of year.
My name is Kate McElligott, and I am the new President and CEO. I was inspired to join Pine Tree Society for the same reason as you: I believe in the mission.
And I believe in children like Oliver.
When Oliver first came to our specialized preschool in Auburn, he would hide from the other children and wasn’t able to communicate how he felt.
His parents wondered if he would ever talk.
His mother told me, “Within a few months of being at the Early Learning Center, Oliver started talking and asking for help. That was a huge milestone, and it all took off from there.”
Pine Tree Society’s mission is to provide Maine children and adults with disabilities the opportunities and the means to create better lives for themselves and their families.
“Everyone makes sure Oliver has what he needs to succeed. He’s made so many friends and his progression is just incredible.”
It’s easy to see the immediate impact the Early Learning Center makes on Oliver and his family.
